reuniting

One of the things we knew for certain when Shawn accepted his job with Time to Revive was that he was going to need to travel for work.  I had many questions about the frequency and length of his travel as well as what it would do to our family life and our marriage.  Many of my questions remain unanswered we have learned that it takes sacrifice and commitment from both of us to pull of each trip well.  

We have matured a lot over the last 3 years in our ability to support one another in our unique travel roles and we intentionally make the choice to grow together, rather than apart during each of Shawn's trips.  Shawn's travel schedule is one of the most challenging aspects of his job for both of us, but it also gives us countless opportunities to believe the best in one another, communicate with intentionality and to generously extend grace toward the other person.     

We've been navigating a heavier than normal travel schedule over the last few months and we have been soaking up as much time together as we can between trips.  Monday concluded our season of heavier-than-normal travel and I for one have all been breathing a little bit easier as we settle back into family life.  The reuniting has been sweet and our time doesn't feel crunched or fleeting.  

Welcome home Shawn, we sure have missed you!
