Foundation

The longer I stay home with my kids, the more I find myself thinking of the purpose behind our days together. It is an incredible privilege to watch personalties emerge and character traits unfold.  It is humbling to witness new skills surface and invigorating to observe kindness in action.  We celebrate each others victories and are present for each others mistakes.  Not every day is easy, harmonious or smooth but the thing that unifies the easy with the hard, and the momentous with the mundane is our foundation.

Our foundation is one of faith and our faith comes from our unswerving belief in the Bible.

"So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ." - Romans 10:17

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”  - Matthew 7:24-27

I don't know what God has planned for my children, but I know that He created them intentionally.  He knew them before I did and He loves them better than I ever could.  I am confident that that God is building something beautiful in our children on the foundation of faith that they stand on.

I hope you're having a good week!
Love,
Erica
