home bound

Shortly after last weeks post went live we found ourselves being instructed by Jonah's doctor to head straight to the Emergency Room because our little buddy was sporting a very high fever.  We skipped breakfast, grabbed the diaper bag and loaded everyone in the van for our inaugural trip to the ER.  The waiting room was miraculously empty so we were immediately ushered in for an examination.  His fever was high, and his heart was fast but everything else looked great so the medical team made an educated guess that Jonah was fighting off some sort of viral infection.  We stayed a few hours for monitoring and then were discharged with strict instructions about how to manage his fever.

It's been over a week and our joyful little guy is still sick.  Somewhere along the way Nicole and Shawn also got sick.  Shawn is (thankfully) already back up and running but our kids are still hanging on to whatever this is.  All plans have been temporarily put on hold and we have been spending all of our time snuggling our kids and coaxing them to drink their fluids.   We're hopeful that we're in the home stretch of this virus but if not, you can find us at home, with our children burrowed into our laps, wrapped in their favorite blankets.

I hope you are well!
Love,
Erica
