The kids and I had a unique opportunity to go on a work trip with Shawn this month so we have been enjoying time together in the midwest for the last 3 weeks. We have never attempted a trip like this before but I'm glad we finally did. I'm in no rush to do it all the time but given the length and location of this trip in particular, it was the right decision to make. It's been meaningful and insightful to see Shawns work firsthand and to see where he's been spending the majority of his time away for the last two years. The kids have done phenomenally well being out of routine for so long and have taken every opportunity to build relationships with the people they have encountered here. As an added blessing, we capitalized on our location and drove to Wisconsin to spend Christmas with family.
We give thanks for our time together, our time with family and for countless new experiences we shared on this trip. We are kicking off the new year by driving back to Texas and we are looking forward to completing this final leg of our journey.
