This year Nicole has truly started to understand and embrace each calendar season as it is underway. It has been incredibly fun to usher her into the unique parts of each month, and anticipate the special things we get to observe or celebrate. As a result, this has been the best Christmas season we have ever shared together, and it's only just begun! We've been reading some incredible picture books about Christmas like
Song of the Stars and
Mortimer's Christmas Manger. We've baked cookies, shopped for presents together and sang countless Christmas carols.
Given how enthusiastic Nicole has been about participating in the season, I was thrilled to be able to invite her to attend a Christmas Party with me. This year, in lieu of an adult-only Christmas party, my MOPS group hosted a Mommy & Me Christmas party and they provided childcare for the kids too young to enjoy it. So, last week after Nicole and I dropped Jonah off with nursery workers who adore him, we headed hand-in-hand across the hall to the best preschool Christmas party around.
We were greeted by a cookie decorating station, a plethora of Christmas crafts, some games and a photo booth. We both had a great time and I will forever be grateful for the kind nursery workers who coaxed Jonah to sleep while Nicole and I had fun together.
I hope you have been able to pause and enjoy this Christmas season too!
Love,
Erica
